There is a great opportunity at University at Buffalo for a Director of the Sustainability Initiative. The role is based at the North Campus in Buffalo, New York. As inaugural Director of the Sustainability Initiative, you will:
– Lead the vision and strategy including formation, communication, and implementation. Strategies should be a combination of those arising from faculty and their academic departments, students, and College administration, while also supporting the university’s overarching sustainability strategy. This may include a particular emphasis on urban sustainability with the Buffalo/Niagara region as the translational laboratory.
– Facilitate, encourage, and build consensus, nurture a culture of shared goals and success, and open communication. Support and work closely with UB’s Chief Sustainability Officer to closely integrate academic (traditional and continuing education), research, and community engagement initiatives vision and strategies. Build true connect and collaborate partnerships based on shared goals.
– Lead a College Sustainability Team, which will consist of the participating Department Chairs, Cognizant Associate Deans, Dean’s Office designee, UB Chief Sustainability Officer, Directors of related support organizations, and the CAS Director of Communication and Marketing.
