GSK is seeking an Environment Manager. Reporting directly to the EHS Site Lead for the Ware R&D and Harlow GSK site(s), the Environment Manager is responsible for the provision of leadership, strategic direction, coordination and delivery in the specialist areas of environmental management and sustainability relevant to business needs, supportive of GSK’s objectives and compliant with regulations. This includes responsibility for ensuring that GSK’s interests are represented and protected, as well as providing specialist technical services to the R&D business units within the region and maintaining/leading comprehensive external and cross business initiatives. The Environment Manager also provides general EHS support to the wider EHS R&D team to ensure delivery of efficient and effective services across sites in the Hertfordshire and Essex region.

A key element of this role is managing UK Environmental Permits, & so we are particularly interested in hearing from experienced Environmental professionals with NEBOSH Health and Safety qualifications.

About You

This role would suit a self-motivated individual who has strong experience of working in an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) role. Ideally you will be an Environmental Professional with strong safety experience (including experience of managing UK Environmental Permits). You will be resilient and calm under pressure. Strong people skills with proven ability to partner (build relationships) and influence people to deliver (achieve) objectives are considered fundamental skills for the role. You will also have a strong continuous improvement mindset.
