The Nature Conservancy is seeking a Human Resources Manager. The role is based in Illinois. The Human Resources Manager provides human resources administrative services related to recruiting, compensation analysis, talent management, benefits, payroll, staff development and training, employee relations, and organizational development for the Illinois Chapter. The Specialist will play a key role in advancing the Chapter’s work around diversity, equity and inclusion – work that touches all aspects of the Illinois Chapter, from recruiting, to creating an inclusive working environment, to how the organization engages with community partners. This position is an ideal role for an individual seeking a growth opportunity within the human resources function and beyond. Over time and assuming a high level of performance and mutual interest, the Specialist may have the opportunity to acquire skills related to financial management and operations.

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading, administering and maintaining HR systems, programs, procedures and plans in accordance with TNC’s policies and procedures. In this multi-faceted role, the Specialist will be the “go to” person in terms of assisting Illinois Chapter staff with a wide spectrum of HR-related issues. The Specialist will report to the Deputy Director.
