Land O’Lakes Venture37 is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships and New Ventures.

You’ll be joining a team committed to everything from the seeds that go into the ground, to the technology that improves crop yields and sustainability, to the grain that animals eat to produce milk, to marketing the final product, like our many legendary products.


Strategy and pipeline development

  • Leverage and contribute to P4G fact base, ensuring targeted pursuit of priority customers and opportunities
  • Track funding opportunities across multiple customers and draft bid analyses
  • Manage and update opportunities and contacts in Salesforce

Customer and partner development

  • Cultivate and deepen connections with contacts globally for key existing and new customers, including private foundations, corporate partners and non-USG bilateral agencies; develop strong understanding of key influencers
  • Retain working knowledge of customer strategies
  • Represent V37 in key customer meetings
  • Lead the development and execution of customer development strategies


  • Work with V37 colleagues to develop customer-appropriate pitch decks and other collateral
  • Conduct marketing trips to key customers; organize key customer visits to Land O’Lakes
  • Position V37 for new business opportunities at industry events and by influencing program design

Proposal Development

  • Fill key proposal roles, particularly technical writer, leader, and sub-partner relationship manager – with responsibilities including development of partnership strategy and scopes of work
  • Participate in, and when appropriate, lead design sessions

Required Experience/Knowledge

  • Masters Degree in International Development, Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics or related field plus a minimum of seven years relevant work experience combination of additional education and experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of emerging trends in international agriculture/economic development
  • Experience developing and maintaining partnerships and securing business from foundations, non-USG bilateral agencies, and corporates
  • Experience and knowledge designing competitive bids for donor funding, with expertise in writing (including technical writing) and partnership development/management; budget expertise a plus but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and develop program designs that are underpinned by causal models
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with emphasis on proposals and marketing materials
  • Experience living and/or working in developing countries, particularly in Africa and Asia
  • Ability to work and lead effectively in a team setting with people of varying cultures
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, flexible and able to focus and guide others in accomplishing time-sensitive work
  • Ability to travel and work effectively in developing countries
